Xcelerator Updates

Online Update for Duramax Economy, Standard and Hot Xcelerators

Hot Race LMM, Hot+2 E.T. Race LMM and 2001-2008 Hot+2 E.T. Xcelerators are not upgradable online! Updating your programmer with the TUNE and TEXT files will result in loss of race tunes.

IMPORTANT: Return your vehicle back to "stock" prior to updating your programmer with this update!

Your Xcelerator must have a side plug. Additionally, you will need a USB cable (USB-A to USB-B) to connect your Xcelerator to your computer.

  1. Download the current update and save the file to your Desktop.
    2. Filename: LMM_235_Update.zip The LMM_235_Update.zip file will contain six files:
    • CDM 2.02.04.exe
    • FTD2XX.dll
    • PECan_235_Update.bin
    • PPE Updater.exe
    • TEXT 11-19-07.bin
    • TUNE 10-17-08.bin
      •
  2. Extract these five files into a folder by right-clicking your mouse on the LMM_235_Update.zip file and selecting "Extract All...".
  3. Find the folder that contains the five files...
  4. Double-click on the CDM 2.02.04.exe file (this will install a device driver that allows your Xcelerator and computer to communicate with each other).
  5. Double-click on the PPE Updater.exe file (this is the program and it will allow you to install several updates into your Xcelerator). Your Xcelerator should not be plugged in until you double-click on the PPE Updater.exe file.
  6. Plug in your Xcelerator using the USB-B plug of your USB cable. Be sure the USB-A is plugged into the USB port of your computer. The PPE Updater program has detected your Xcelerator.
  7. Click on the "Update Tuner" button in the PPE Updater program. Select the PECan_235_Update.bin file and click "Open". Do not unplug your Xcelerator while the PPE Updater program is running... The PPE Updater program will have succesfully updated your Xcelerator if you see this dialog box. Click "OK". If you are updating a LMM Race Xcelerator, please stop here. Updating your programmer with the TUNE and TEXT files will result in loss of race tunes.
  8. Click on the "Update Tuner" button in the PPE Updater program. Select the TEXT 11-19-07.bin file and click "Open". Do not unplug your Xcelerator while the PPE Updater program is running...
  9. Click on the "Update Tuner" button in the PPE Updater program. Select the TUNE 10-17-08.bin file and click "Open". Do not unplug your Xcelerator while the PPE Updater program is running...
  10. Once all updates have completed, close the PPE Updater program and unplug your Xcelerator.

Congratulations! Your Xcelerator is up-to-date.
